What Fotomatto does
You don’t buy a camera every week, and prices differ a lot between shops and between promotions. Fotomatto puts them side by side. Each product has a single page with all its versions: body only or kit with lens, every colour, every mount and every memory card capacity, each with its own EAN code or the manufacturer’s model number.
A price belongs to exactly one version: we never compare a body only with the same camera as a kit, or a 64 GB memory card with a 256 GB one. We only show shop prices once we have checked them for the exact version; if the version isn’t unambiguous, we show no price rather than guess.
Independent
Fotomatto doesn’t sell anything and isn’t affiliated with the brands on this site. We use brand names to describe what is in the catalogue, not to suggest a partnership.
The order of products and prices is not for sale.
Not a test lab
We don’t test cameras or lenses ourselves. We show what the manufacturer states, such as the sensor size, the number of megapixels, the lens mount, the stabilisation, the video options and the weight with battery. What is and isn’t in the box is stated clearly, for example ‘Body only’. How a camera feels in practice differs from one photographer to the next, so also look at the shop’s returns policy.
Who makes Fotomatto
Fotomatto is an initiative of Made by Spin, based in the north of the Netherlands (Noord-Nederland; KvK 01129853, VAT ID NL001458795B62). You can reach us at info@fotomatto.com.
A comparison site by Made by Spin
Fotomatto is one of the comparison sites of Made by Spin. Made by Spin builds and runs a network of price comparison sites, each for its own kind of product, on one shared platform with the same rules for every site.

How we earn money
Fotomatto is free and sells nothing itself. We earn affiliate commission: if you follow a link to a shop and buy something there, that shop pays us a share of the purchase. These links run through an address on Fotomatto that starts with /out/.
The price you pay at the shop stays the same: the shop pays the commission, not you. How much commission a shop pays plays no part in the order of products and prices.
How we compare
- Exact products: a price belongs to exactly one version, identified by its EAN or the manufacturer’s part number. If that is not clear-cut, we show no price rather than guess.
- Only real price drops: we only call a price a drop when it is lower than the same shop’s lowest price in the 30 days before.
- In stock first: offers you can order now are listed above sold-out ones.
